Country Moon Winery

In my previous post, we found ourselves near Noblesville, Indiana visiting the new Cabela's Sporting goods store. While in this area, we searched Yelp for a local winery. The first one we found did not offer tastings so we searched again. This little winery was located about 5 short miles just out of Noblesville.

In fact, when were turning into the driveway, we saw the open sign displayed, but wondered if we were in the correct spot? We could see a rustic looking log cabin and an airplane hanger. The doors were open to the hanger so we ventured inside.

The store front itself was very modest with only a small display blocked off by PVC pipe and shelves. There was hot cider in a crock pot that smelled wonderful right away. The owner greeted us warmly and we talked for awhile about how they started this winery.

They only have 8 varieties of wine made on site. The bottles are all a beautiful blue color. The labels were nicely done. I peeked out at the vineyards in the back. Also very modest.

The owner told us how they rent out the cabin for parties and family gatherings. There is a large grassy area with fire pit as well.

The tasting itself was free. We tried several of the varieties. There were 3 that I liked really well. For a modest store, the atmosphere was very friendly. County Moon winery gets a 4****out of 5 stars for their wines.

Mo's Irish Pub review

I was looking back through  my blog and I realized that I have not posted for over a year. I suppose that is what a full time job might do to a person. I find less and less time for the extra things I used to do. Perhaps a New Year resolution for me would be to post more often again. (in all my free time)

A new Cabela's store open about 2 hours away from us in Noblesville. Seeing that my hubby is an avid huntsman, we decided to go check it out. Once down there, we got to do some Christmas shopping : )

While walking around a beautiful outdoors mall, we spotted Mo's Irish Pub. It looks like a lot of fun!

Once inside, the atmosphere is very relaxed and we were seated next to the fireplace! (with real burning wood) There were shelves of old books so I began to look through some of them. Very interesting old novels and classics.

We started with the wine and beer list. Of course, the beer is not straight draft like we are used to. It has wonderfully fancy names. My hubby usually asks, which one taste the most like....?

Since we had been doing a lot of outdoors walking, I was a little chilly and decided on a warm coffee drink of Hooley's Irish coffee. It was pretty good and nicely presented.

For dinner, I decided on the beer battered cod with slaw and fries. The fish was excellent, firm and flaky!

Roger stayed with the Mo's burger. It was excellent as well. It came with a side salad.

Overall, I would give Mo's Irish Pub a *****5 out of 5 dinner stars!
